Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve
Only a five minute drive from Dawn Ranch, this state park boasts huge redwood trees and fantastic walking and hiking for all levels.
Downtown Guerneville
Walk a few minutes into Guerneville’s center to explore the local galleries and antique stores, like Oli Gallery, Blue Door, and Fife Creek Antiques.
Porter-Bass Winery
Drive nine minutes to this casual, small mother-son owned winery with fabulous wine! Group tastings available.
Sophie’s Cellars in Duncan Mills
Drive 12 minutes to find Duncan Mills’s super-small town center. We suggest sampling the wine and cheese pairings at Sophie’s!
Goat Rock Beach
Looking for classic California coastline? Drive 25 minutes to Goat Rock Beach for gorgeous views and an easily accessible beach.
Korbel Winery
A six-minute drive from Dawn Ranch, Korbel offers a great patio lunch, plus champagne tasting tours.

For modern Californian fare, look no further than boon. They don’t take reservations, so put your name in and head to El Barrio for a drink while you wait.
Pat’s International
Look past the odd decor and you’ll be rewarded with a super tasty breakfast or lunch.
Country Coffee
Caffeinate and view some local art at Country Coffee. Feeling adventurous? Try their mushroom blends.
El Barrio
Head here for tequila (great margs), Mexican bites, and a cool vibe.
The Farmhand
Head here for breakfast or lunch – great sandwiches, salads and a fun nostalgic market, with a lovely patio.
Cafe Acquatica
If you’re heading to Jenner, don’t miss Cafe Acquatica. Grab a sandwich and a drink and head to their patio for the views.
What (to wear)
Sartorial tips
Wedding day will be formal attire – remember, we’ll be outside enjoying the Russian River redwoods! We recommend:
Ladies wear grass-worthy footwear
Bring something warm; the California sun is hot and strong during the day, but expect cool evenings
How (to travel)
Travel tips
We recommend flying into San Francisco International Airport (SFO), which is just under a two hour drive from Dawn Ranch. Oakland International Airport (OAK) is a great option, too.
We suggest renting a car to drive to Guerneville and explore the local area. There’s plenty of hikes, wineries, and views.
Uber and Lyft are available, and will run anywhere from $120-200 from San Francisco to Guerneville.
